Snow Considerations

Our ground is covered in white and Henry is just beginning to understand what this snow thing is all about. He ventured out this past weekend in not-so-winter-like clothes, enjoying his foray at first and then realizing his mistake soon after. He is an adventurer for certain!

Hanukkah was a bright and colorful celebration - not only of the miracles of old, but check out the new colorful backsplash in the kitchen! The remodel continues...the garage is almost complete. Our little compound in the woods is looking good!

Super Heroes Unite!

Shannon, Henry, Marilyn and I traveled to Seattle this weekend to enjoy a fall weekend with friends and family. Shannon and I also got to ride in the annual Super Heroes Bike Ride -- a fun-filled event for all wanna-be Marvels! Here, Superman and Wonder Girl join the gang at the Hall of Justice.

We visited with Chapel, Watson and Chris and the three kids had a wonderful reunion together!

New Shoes?

What's Happening with Henry?

Our little man is now 15 months old! He is taking gymnastics class, enjoying every aspect of the jungle gym, singing old time favorites (Like Old MacDonald), eating everything under the sun, loving his My Big Truck Book, amazing his mommas with every day learning! And recently he has been looking just a weebit like a MONKEY!!!!

More Colorado Fun

Here are a few more Colorado shots -- the kids just loved swimming in the hot springs and hiking to the chairlift!

Considering the Beauty of Steamboat Springs

What a lovely trip we had visiting our dear friends Deb, Anna & Adelyn in Steamboat Springs, CO. We planned it at the tail-end of a 3-day coaching workshop I attended at the Center for Creative Leadership -- so SEB and Huck flew in and met me in Denver and we drove over the 11,000+ foot pass to land in a gorgeous valley in full Fall regalia! The Rocky Mountains are simply unparalleled!

Our time visiting found us hiking with the kids, enjoying the local hot springs, catching up and experiencing the day-to-day of Deb, Anna and Ady. And is Adelyn one cute kid!!! It was wonderful to watch her and Henry play together and to imagine their future days skiing on the mountain with each other.

While we were tempted to begin researching new jobs and where we could live in Steamboat...the truth is, we were very happy to come back to our home in Sandpoint. It sure is growing on us!

Random Cuteness

Some recent cuteness...Henry at Rosh Hashana supper with his bear and then playing in the park in Seattle.

Update: Teeth are coming in all over the place, he is obsessed with his sleepy-lovey-bear, he is learning to sing "Old McDonald" and he LOVES his new Diaper Daredevil class at the local gynmastics center. He is so strong and already able to walk the balance beam!

Roman Nose Cliff Walking

Shannon and I played hooky this Friday and went into the mountains to climb Roman Nose, a geological feature of the Selkirk Mountains. We’d been wanting a “moms’ day off” adventure and we had it!!! The hike into the lakes was easy and beautiful – subalpine larch starting to turn a golden hue, huckleberrys just post-prime flaming red at the leaf, the sky wide-open blue…

From the lakes, we scrambled up granite rock to the saddle and then ascended the peak along the ridgeline. Our hearts were in our throats most of the way, but the goal of reaching the top kept us going. Once atop the peak, we had a gorgeous 360 degree view of the Selkirks – simply outstanding! We met a few men on top who convinced us to try a new route down, which sounded good at the time, yet ended up sending us right over a cliff! It was harrowing and not recommended…but we are here to tell the tale…so our instincts helped guide us down.

The rest of the weekend was spent up at Priest Lake with Buddy and Bonnie and a nice, much more tame excursion on the Navigation Trail along the lake…a much welcome option.

L'Shana Tova!

Many happy wonderful blessings to all for the New Year! We are so grateful for everything which surrounds us -- our freedoms, our relationships, our health and our imagination. We send peace and love to you all!

Labor Day Enjoyment

We had the pleasure of visitors, Vic & Jess, for the Labor Day weekend. We filled our time taking adventures up to Lake Estelle, boating on the lake with Timmy, making delicious meals, hablando en espanol con Henry and introducing Vic and Jess to our dear friends here (an evening that lasted well into the early hours of the next morning!)
It was a wonderful, wonderful weekend!
