Time Passing

Day 3 of Henry's Life
Day 365 of Henry's Life

I'd say things just get better and better!

Summer at the Lake

We spent a simply quintessential summer weekend with Buddy and Bonnie and families at Priest Lake. We hiked the Lakeside Trail with Henry napping on our back, toured the coastal beaches by pontoon boat, had swimming races to nearby docks, enjoyed equisite wines and aged cheeses, and had lots & lots of kid time. 6 grandkids were there -- ages 14, 5, 3, 3, 1 & 3 months! They all got along great!

Where have the thoughts gone?

MLwN has gone the way of MLwT (My Life without Time)...for those interested in my mind musings, please forgive me. Such considerations are now taking place while I am walking with Henry after work or while in the shower -- neither conducive to typing on the computer. Suffice to say, negativity still reigns within the grey matter of my brain...though I am evermore aware of its presence and impact. First step...insight.

Current considerations center on the funny farm nature of corporate cultures and how one can stay sane amidst such blantant disfunction and crazy-making behavior...(OK, so the glass feels half empty today...) I will say that I am proud of the little "wins" I make each day in working with mid-level leaders who really do want to do the right thing. This keeps me keeping on.

Happy Times!

Noah is such a great big cousin!
Jack is a "gift" of a cousin!

Birthday Considerations

There are only wonderful things to be said of a one-year-old’s Bubbles-n-Trucks birthday party. Many friends, hot sunny skies, a new blow up pool and lots of cupcakes all combined to make it a very special afternoon! Deb and family & Marilyn came up too and stayed for an evening dip in the lake (well-deserved in 100+ degree weather) and supper. It is difficult to imagine it was a year ago when my waters broke signaling Henry’s pending arrival. He is such a boy these days…very much genderized into trucks, trains and all things vacuum. Curls at the nape of his neck still have folks wondering at times if he is a girl…but he seems fine with this confusion.

We are so, so fortunate to have Henry in our lives! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HENRY JOSEPH!

Island Time

My birthday week began with a dream-like five days on Lopez Island with some of the best friends in the world! I am so fortunate to know Lara, Melissa, Julie & Andrea. We slumbered together in the yurt like co-eds back in college, ate wonderful food, took exciting hikes to new places on the island and talked and talked and talked! I got my fill of politically-lefty, yummy-intellectual, teacher/scientist/academic, lesbian-leaning dialogue -- the stuff I live for! (Yeah, and we talked about bodliy functions a lot too!) We even cleaned the yurt skylight in a full participation team effort! It was my highlight of the trip!

Long time away...lots of catching up to do. The most recent weekend in Glacier was lovely -- time spent with friends and family and birthday celebrations! More to follow about the entire time away and my enduring considerations of MLwN...
